<p>Up until very recently I had absolutely no idea what a gluten free diet was. I didn’t have even a grain of an idea (that&#8217;s a pun). I have since found out that gluten is the protein part of certain grains like wheat, barley, rye or other similar grains. And some people, including me, are allergic to the gluten in these grains and, therefore, need to have a gluten free diet. </p>
<p>Sadly,it&#8217;s not as easy as it sounds (did it sound easy?). Since someone with a gluten intolerance or celiac disease has to live on a gluten free diet, they should probably consult with a doctor or nutritionist first. If they don’t get the right diet information, they could face many problems. </p>
<p>If you suffer from either of these gluten allergies don’t worry since there is hope. A diet that can handle your  needs can be formulated and you can live a good life. Just remember to stay away from wheat based products. Again that might not be so easy to do, but that&#8217;s the first step in going gluten-free.</p>
<p>If you like oats, then you’ll be happy to know that you don’t need to eliminate oats or oat products. If they’ve been processed free of the contaminating effects of wheat or such other grains, then you should be fine. But you will have to make sure that this is the case otherwise you will be inadvertently eating gluten.</p>
<p>Foods that you could eat on your gluten free diet include: corn, soya, rice, and tapioca. You can also have jams, and marmalades, sugar, honey, treacle and molasses too. If that’s not enough, your gluten free diet can include all fresh fruits and vegetables, along with eggs, milk, creams, butters and cheese. Tea and coffee, fizzy drinks and most alcoholic drinks are okay, too.</p>
<p>Although it might not be easy to stay on your gluten free diet, if you start buying ready prepared gluten-free foods, that can help.</p>
<p>So really if you just stick to the fresh food, and stay away from canned or pre-made foods,then you should be fine with your gluten free lifestyle. A little bit of careful planning and you should be able to handle a gluten-free diet.</p>

<p>Everyone who has a weight problem knows that losing weight is far from easy.  If you try to lose weight without being &#8220;in the right frame of mind&#8221; the chances are you won&#8217;t succeed.  The same applies if you don&#8217;t think you need to change your eating habits for life. So I have written this weight loss information to help you to understand exactly what is meant by changing your eating habits for life means for you.</p>
<p>So many people who succeed in losing weight then go back to their old eating habits and this is the reason that most people end up putting the weight back on. </p>
<p>So the first two main points for losing weight is to do it with a positive mind and be prepared to change your eating habits for life because if you have a weight problem you have it for life.  A bit like an alcoholic who cannot have another drink once he is on the wagon because he wouldn&#8217;t be able to stop at one.</p>
<p>The same applies to eating if you change your habits to lose weight if you aren&#8217;t careful it is possible then to gradually fall back into your old eating habits and you have just one sweet that ends up being a packet of sweets, or a small square of chocolate becomes a bar of chocolate and so on, until you completely back to your bad eating habits and then you put back on all the weight you&#8217;ve lost and in most cases some extra!!</p>
<p>The people that do this are the ones that end up losing weight then regaining weight then losing weight and regaining weight time and time again, not forgetting the extra few pounds that you put on each time.  These people are called yo-yo dieters and if this sounds familiar you really need to break the chain and commit to a new lifetime eating regime and then keep to it.</p>
<p>What you need to be aware of is that if you don&#8217;t put any action and effort into losing weight YOU WILL NOT SUCCEED!</p>
<p>Many people have put themselves on a strict regime to lose weight quickly and ended up giving in to the temptation of that cream cake, bar of chocolate or whatever it is that you find hardest to give up and then just stop because &#8220;they have fallen off and failed&#8221;.</p>
<p>This weight loss information is aimed at making you realise that there is no such thing as failure of a diet, if you have a bad day or evening you just carry on the next day.  No-one is saying that you cannot enjoy yourself so go to that wedding or on holiday and enjoy yourself then continue with your new eating habits when you get home.</p>
<p>So remember the more positive your attitude the more chance of you succeeding.  So try to use a food diary to record everything you eat both good and bad, if things need weighing or counting then weigh or count them and the diary will give you lots of information.</p>
<p>Another thing is to find an alternative when you have various cravings for example if you fancy something minty or sweet try cleaning your teeth, if you fancy some chocolate have a cup of low calorie hot chocolate instead and always drink a tumbler of water before meals but most importantly if you have had a bad day just carry on the next day.</p>

<p>There are a multitude of reasons to pursue weight loss solutions.  Truthfully speaking there are probably no bad ones, with the obvious exception of eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia. The most common reason is most likely to look good in a swimsuit or for an important upcoming event, or to get back into the clothing size we used to wear. Weight also plays a large role in positive self image and social acceptance. So maybe my use of the term vanity is a little strong but it does encapsulate in broad terms a lot of the reasons people research weight loss information and seek out the best weight loss program.</p>
<p> The reasons I would like to discuss are those that go beyond vanity and/or positive self image. Those motivated by overall wellness and medical necessity. Let me first confess that my interest in weight loss only began 6 months ago. My wife had accumulated about 40 pounds of excess weight over the past 5 years and it was beginning to really frustrate her. I was eager to support her and so I decided to totally immerse myself in the process. The first thing we did was to determine our individual Body Mass Index. In calculating my BMI I discovered that I was above the optimum guidelines and that I also needed to lose 20 pounds. We were both already eating well and physically active. Losing the weight was going to be a challenge.</p>
<p>In searching for the best weight loss program I established some parameters. The most important was that the program be based on good nutrition and not simply on a crash diet concept. Literally days after starting my program I felt a significant boost in energy and alertness. The body has remarkable self-healing capabilities when provided with the correct nutrition. Your wellness plan should provide at a minimum the RDA of vitamins, minerals and essential nutrients. The Recommended Dietary Allowance is a debatable and evolving guideline but it is functional as a wellness program baseline.  This is the first concept I wanted to address. Find a wellness plan that works for you and then commit to it. I have stuck to mine for the past 6 months, even after having attained my goal weight, and I have every intention of continuing to do so. I sleep better, I am more productive and I enjoy a pleasing sense of general well-being. The benefits you will experience will greatly enhance the quality of the rest of your life.  </p>
<p>The second concept is weight loss for medical reasons. My wife and I regularly conduct weight loss challenges in the course of our business. Last week I had a participant tell me after the weekly meeting that she was angry at herself for having been a terrible example to her teenage daughter. She had fallen into the trap of eating convenience foods and paying little attention to making wise meal choices. Her daughter is now overweight and on a medical watch for diabetes yet she is resistant to changing her eating habits. Everyday doctors are telling patients that they need to lose weight or suffer serious consequences. Dr David Heber, M.D., Ph.D., author of &#8220;What Color is Your Diet?&#8221; asks the pertinent paraphrased question: &#8220;At what point did food become more about taste and fussy palates than about providing correct nutrition for our complex human bodies?&#8221;  Obesity is rampant in the United States and many other countries. This obesity epidemic is now spreading like wildfire among children. The signs are ominous but all is not lost. High profile people like Michelle Obama are championing the obesity cause and there are solutions out there. Parents need to take responsibility and teach their children how to eat well. There is an abundance of weight loss information available. Make it your business to do the research and ensure that your families are not on the path to major medical complications.</p>

<p>According to the World Health Organization, almost one billion adults are overweight and at least 300 million are clinically obese. The incidence of obesity is rising dramatically not only among adults but also among children. The International Obesity Taskforce estimated that one out of ten school-age children aged 5-7 is overweight. It is calculated that 30 to 45 million of that age group are classified as obese.</p>
<p>Researches have already proven that being overweight or obese can increase the risk of cancer among adults. As such, medical practitioners around the globe have launched various campaigns on how to fight obesity not only among adults but also among young children. Because healthy habits are encouraged at an early age, the campaign calls on parents to help their children by setting the right path to nutrition. Parents are being asked to encourage their children to eat healthy foods and to be physically active. Enlisting the cooperation of the parents is important to the successful correction of childhood obesity since it will require considerable diet and lifestyle changes. According to the International Obesity Task Force, parents can help by:</p>
<p>Participating      with their children on sports and other physical activities<br />
Limiting      time spent watching television and playing computer games<br />
Parents      should eliminate unhealthy snacks and unhealthy sodas<br />
Replace      junk foods with fruits and vegetables<br />
And make      sure that low-calorie and healthy foods are served during meals</p>
<p>Above all, parents should be a role model to their children. To get better results from their children, parents should practice what they preach.</p>
